PLEASE APPLY FOR KYLE VIA OUR WEBSITE CONTACT FORM WHERE YOU WILL ALSO SEE MORE VIDEOS OF HIM WHICH YOU CAN ALSO SEE ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE. Kyle – Collie Mix, approximately 12 months old Fostered in Gloucestershire in an adult home with other dogs Some rescue stories are particularly special because you get to watch a dog change before your eyes — and Kyle’s is one of those stories. ❤️ Kyle started his rescue journey in Spain, where he was found as a stray wandering the streets. He came into the rescue we work with there as a very nervous young dog. When I met him in June, he was still very unsure. He was happy to have you around but didn't really want to come up to you or interact with you. What immediately stood out to me, though, was how wonderfully he was with the other dogs. He was only young, he was gentle, and I could see there was a lovely dog underneath all that nervousness. I knew we could help him. That was back in June, and after a long journey, Kyle arrived in the UK in August and came into foster with us. Initially, he was incredibly nervous. For the first day or so he kept himself out of the way of both us and the other dogs, watching everything from a safe distance. But then, little by little, things started to change. His confidence around the other dogs came first, and then his confidence around us began to follow. We started taking him into the woodland opposite the house for walks, keeping things quiet and manageable while he got used to this strange new world. Even there, he was nervous at first. Although it isn't a busy woodland, you meet people and other dogs, and those encounters were particularly scary for him. But look at him now. ❤️ We are only a few weeks further down the line and the Kyle I met in Spain — and the Kyle who first arrived here — is a completely different dog. Even I am amazed at how quickly he is adapting. He is now happily off the lead with the other dogs, has been on a couple of long countryside hikes and absolutely loved them. He has visited not one but two coffee shops, where he was incredibly chilled and settled. Because it has been so incredibly hot since Kyle arrived, we haven't been able to do much in the way of car journeys until recently. We have now started introducing these, and this is one area where he is still very nervous. He isn't sick in the car, but he is definitely frightened, so we will be working on this gradually and helping him learn that travelling in the car is nothing to worry about. Knowing how quickly he has overcome everything else, I fully expect this to improve too. He sleeps peacefully in the utility room, is clean in the house and is becoming increasingly confident every day. He has also really bonded with me now. He can still be wary of new people, but if you simply give him a little space and don't put pressure on him, it doesn't take long before his curiosity gets the better of him. He will come over, say hello and start handing out his lovely kisses. ❤️ With new dogs he meets in the woods, he can still be cautious, but he is now able to approach gently, have a little sniff and say hello. And he absolutely adores the dogs he lives with. They get plenty of kisses, and he particularly loves his foster sister — a big black Newfie cross — and the two of them have great fun playing together. Watching him play, run around and enjoy himself is a world away from the nervous young dog who arrived here. The videos below hopefully give you a little glimpse into Kyle's world and show just how much he is responding to living in a home, probably for the first time in his life, and how quickly he is evolving. Kyle isn't a complicated dog. He is a lovely, gentle young boy who is well on his way to becoming a really well-rounded and balanced dog. He is actually very chilled around the house and incredibly easy to live with. What he needs now is someone who understands that his journey isn't quite finished. He needs a confident, experienced home who will continue the work we have started with him and keep gently exposing him to the big wide world, allowing his confidence to continue growing at his own pace. And one thing that is very important to us — Kyle will not be homed as an only dog. He needs another confident, friendly dog to help show him the ropes, give him reassurance and, of course, someone to play with. His relationship with the dogs here has been such an important part of his progress. We honestly think Kyle has so much potential. He has already come such a long way in such a short time, and we would love to find him the special home that will continue helping him blossom into the wonderful dog we know he can be. Kyle has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, has his own Passport and has had all his required blood tests. If you feel you could be the right match for our lovely boy, we would love to hear from you. 📧 ************ We can send you our application form and tell you more about this very special young man. ❤️
