She escaped Ukraine and arrived safely in the UK just a few weeks after the war began in 2022. After everything she had already been through, we hoped she had finally found her forever home. Sadly, life had other plans. After several happy years, changing family circumstances meant Ilo needed to be rehomed. A wonderful family welcomed her into their lives a year ago, gave her time, love and patience, and she settled beautifully. But now, once again, life has changed. The arrival of a new baby has highlighted that Ilo is finding this huge change very difficult. Like many sensitive dogs, she is struggling to adapt to the completely different family dynamics and has become increasingly anxious around situations involving the baby. Rather than waiting for the situation to escalate, her family have made the heartbreaking decision to ask for our help in finding the environment where Ilo can truly relax and be happy again. 🐾 Meet Ilo Ilo is about 5 years old beautiful lower-medium-sized girl with a gentle, intelligent and sensitive nature. Once she trusts you, she forms incredibly deep bonds and becomes the most loyal companion you could wish for. ✨ Highlights ✨ • SIZE: Low-Medium (approx. 12-13 kg) • SPAYED: Yes • CHARACTER: Gentle • Intelligent • Loyal • Sensitive • Affectionate • DOGS: Enjoys playing with other dogs, can be worried by some larger dogs • CATS: Unknown • CHILDREN: Adult-only home or older teenagers 🐾 More About Ilo Ilo is wonderfully clever and loves being involved in everyday life. She enjoys long walks, exploring, learning and spending time with the people she loves. She knows several commands, is fully house-trained and happily settles indoors after a good walk. She absolutely enjoys meeting other dogs and loves to play, although she can occasionally feel unsure around some larger breeds. She has been left alone for a few hours without problems and generally settles well once she knows her routine. Ilo is a sensitive soul who values her own space and likes life to be predictable. She enjoys interaction and affection but also appreciates having quiet time to relax uninterrupted. The changes that come with a newborn baby have simply proved overwhelming for her. This isn't unusual for dogs, particularly those with a naturally sensitive temperament, and it doesn't change what a lovely companion she can be in the right environment. 🏡 Ideal Home Ilo is looking for a calm, young home where life is predictable and peaceful, without young children, who are often too loud and chaotic – she appreciates structure and stability. She would thrive with people who understand sensitive dogs and are happy to continue supporting her confidence through kindness, routine and positive guidance. A quieter location with lovely walks nearby would suit her perfectly. She could happily live as an only dog or with a calm, friendly companion following suitable introductions. 💞 Ilo has already rebuilt her life once... then twice. We would love her next move to truly be her last. She isn't asking for a lot.
