Description

Unfortunately due to the breakdown of a relationship I am having to re-home my dog. She needs to find somewhere where she'll be loved and with a confident and responsible dog owner. Despite being half German Shepherd she's only a medium sized dog weighing about 15kg. She loves children (she's been great with my 2 year old and older ones), other dogs and cats (though the feeling isn't always mutual), she's very gentle and loves belly rubs and cuddles. She's quite happy to go on a short 30 mins walk up to about an hour but does tire out on long big walks. She likes to chase things so isn't good with rabbits or smaller animals but she'll happily run around with children or other dogs, she doesn't quite get the concept of fetch though, she'll chase a ball but won't bring it back. She is very excited to see other dogs and is quite reactive on the lead, she just wants to play though and isn't showing any signs of aggression. When she's been off the lead in an enclosed field with other dogs she's been fine. This is something that unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to work with her on yet. She isn't spayed and I think she has just finished being in season. The intention was to spay her afterwards but unfortunately this hasn't been possible. She's up to date with her vaccines, flea and worming treatments, microchipped and saw a vet last month with a clean bill of health. At the moment she's on Aldi's grain free wet food (not the Earls one) and is quite the picky eater. I'm pretty sure she'd prefer human food given half the chance. She has a very gentle mouth and doesn't like big kibble bits from what I've discovered. Ideally she needs a confident dog handler who can be calm and patient as she's not a fan of shouting. You'd need to also be aware that she takes a while to get used to a new place and will have a few accidents inside at first if not watched. She's crate trained and likes sleeping in one overnight however where I am at the minute she's been fine in my room as I'm not allowed the crate in the house. She prefers grass to do her business on too so a garden with grass would be an advantage, though she will go on flags or concrete. Now I think that is everything. Please don't be offended if I ask you a load of questions as I need to know she's going to a good responsible home.
