Description

I’d like to see if there is anyone out there that could give our dog Olive the time she deserves. She is very intelligent, absolutely loves being trained and already knows lots of tricks such as middle, touch, settle, bed, down, watch, spin, high five. She is ball mad so will do anything for a tennis ball. She is great with other dogs, occasionally barks at certain breeds on her lead but she isn’t reactive to dogs and goes on group walks and to day care centres. She has a high prey drive and can not be around cats. Shes had a recent health check and is fit and healthy. She would need a fully fenced off garden as her prey drive can get the better of her. She is full of energy and needs lots of walks and attention but she can also be left home alone and doesn’t seem to mind at all. She is a great guard dog and will bark if she hears someone coming towards the house. Certain noises seem to really affect her though like drilling and the sound of certain appliances. She is the most amazing dog but now we have a child we are really struggling to give her the time she needs. The places we are going with our little one aren’t good environments for olive and so we are just not giving her the attention she deserves. She is great with my little boy and knows to leave his toys alone but can get over excited if he is playing with a ball and has knocked him over by accident. She needs someone who can be consistent with training, walks and also boundaries as she finds it hard to switch off. She needs work on her recall, this was much better when we were consistently training her but has gone down hill since my little ones arrival and our lack of training. She is so clever though that this could definitely be improved. She has no health conditions but she does have a sensitive stomach and needs to be careful about what food she eats. We love her so much and in an ideal world we would still be able to stay in touch with her and the people she goes to and would be more than happy to have her occasionally if you ever needed someone to look after her for a holiday or weekend. We are in no rush to get rid of her and are willing to keep her until we find the right home.
