Description
Blue is currently 4 years old and will turn 5 in September. He is a loving and loyal dog with people he knows, but he has struggled with behavioural issues following a dog attack when he was a puppy. Since that incident, he has become very reactive and can be aggressive towards other dogs.
My ex-partner and I invested a significant amount of time and money into professional training, which did make a noticeable difference. However, since our relationship has ended, my circumstances have changed considerably.
I am now living with my elderly parents and also have another dog. Managing both dogs has become increasingly difficult, particularly because of Blue’s reactivity. Walking them safely is a challenge, and my parents are not able to handle or control him due to his strength and behaviour. Blue also struggles with separation anxiety when left alone, which adds to the complexity of his needs.
This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but I feel that in my current situation I am no longer able to provide Blue with the environment, structure, and consistency he needs and deserves. I truly believe he would benefit from a more suitable home, ideally with someone experienced who can continue to support his behavioural needs.
I want to do the right thing for him and ensure he is placed somewhere safe and appropriate.
