‘Asta’ Scandinavian for ‘beautiful goddess’ is the daughter of ‘Spirit’ also in the Devon region. They survived together & little 14 month old Asta isn’t letting anything hold her back- joyful & docile soul © Chillingly mother and daughter were together in hell though couldn’t huddle together for comfort. They were tied up with rags, ropes & starved. Asta couldn’t be helped by her mum as she instinctively & emotionally would have wanted to. But whatever she had to give she gave to her last pup. Seeing their video taken shortly after they’d had food and were released from their tight confinements is enough to make the onlooker weep for what always should have been. Mum & daughter’s courage is something to be marvelled at. It’s poignant & cannot be translated easily into words. We believe however that their history alone is enough to evoke compassion & a good home. She’s the last baby that Spirit will ever have to worry about which is a merciful step when you consider she couldn’t even look after herself. Neglected to give birth to yet another baby we have the only glory to come from that & that’s ‘Asta’. She’s happy simply because no one is hurting her. It’s heart fracturing how pleased they are with such a morsel. Why do they give so much to us? Because they went to a shelter where there is no opportunities & neither her nor her mum would be guaranteed a future the charity sent them to foster to ensure their safety. The vets words (manager of the government pound):- They came to be neutered, but kept them because they were poorly cared for, starved and very weak.... The one who is supposed to be the owner is a depraved woman, a drunkard (alcoholic)... In the beginning they said I would keep the dog and find homes for them, then she wants them and calls constantly.... I will not give them back to her because she cannot look after and feed them...She had tied them up with ropes, rags - a pitiful picture.... That is why I am sending them to you so that they can soon find homes. The smaller mother is grown up - about 10 years old, the older daughter is young at 1.2 years old That photo is from when they were taken from this person ...., now i will take pictures for you taken 3 weeks after’ Asta is good with her own kind, people & will benefit from the company of her counterparts whether resident or doggy play dates.
