Hazel – 9 month old Border Collie/Labrador/Greyhound/Spaniel cross – loving, energetic girl looking for the right home Hazel is a beautiful, affectionate and very intelligent 9-month-old rescue dog who is looking for a new home where she can receive the time, attention and active lifestyle she deserves. Hazel is a mix of Border Collie, Labrador, Greyhound and Spaniel and is therefore a bright, energetic young dog who needs plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, training and companionship. This is an extremely difficult decision for our family and is absolutely not something we have taken lightly. We have put a lot of time and effort into Hazel, including daily walks, crate training, Kongs, lick mats, chews and ongoing training. However, due to our family circumstances, we have come to the difficult decision that we cannot give her the individual attention and lifestyle we feel she needs long-term. About Hazel Hazel is: • Affectionate and loves attention • Very intelligent and eager to learn • Energetic and loves being outdoors • Still very much a puppy and has lots of potential • Used to living in a family home • Crate trained • Used to enrichment such as Kongs and lick mats • Still learning and will need continued training and consistency She can be excitable and vocal and can become frustrated when she wants attention. She is still only 9 months old, so prospective owners need to understand that she is not a finished, perfectly behaved adult dog. She has also nipped when overexcited/frustrated and has scratched the children during play. She is still going through the teething stage and can become over excitable, we feel that a child-free home would be the safest and most appropriate environment for Hazel. For this reason, we are looking specifically for an experienced owner or couple without young children who understands energetic young dogs and is prepared to continue working with her. The home we are looking for Hazel would ideally suit someone who: • Has plenty of time to spend with her • Enjoys an active/outdoor lifestyle • Has experience with energetic or working-type breeds • Is committed to reward-based training • Can provide plenty of mental stimulation as well as exercise • Has a secure garden • Does not have young children • Understands the commitment of owning a young dog for the next 10+ years We would particularly love to find someone who can give Hazel a more active lifestyle with lots of time outdoors and individual attention. Please read before enquiring Hazel will not be rehomed on a first-come, first-served basis. We want to find her a genuinely suitable, permanent home and will be asking prospective owners about their experience with dogs, home environment, working hours, lifestyle, children/other pets and how much time Hazel would have each day. We would like to meet potential owners and for them to meet Hazel before making any decision. A £250 rehoming fee applies. This is to discourage unsuitable/impulsive enquiries and to reflect the seriousness of taking on a young dog, rather than being a way of making money from her. All relevant vaccination, veterinary and microchip information will be provided. We are looking for a loving, responsible and permanent home for Hazel and would rather wait for the right person than rush the process. Please include as much information as possible about yourself, your home, previous dog experience, work/lifestyle and what life with Hazel would look like.
