Beautiful 4-year-old Gecko came to the UK from Animal SOS Sri Lanka in May. She was dumped at the sanctuary at just one month old and has spent her whole life there, so moving into a UK home has been a huge adjustment. In 14 weeks she has made amazing progress. She's affectionate, playful, loves cuddles, is learning to walk on her lead and absolutely LOVES other dogs. But Gecko has one significant challenge: she is very frightened of men. Despite lots of patience and support from her current family, including anti-anxiety medication, she remains extremely fearful of her adopter's husband. Her fear can cause barking, pacing and toileting. For this reason, we're looking for a calm, preferably female-only home, ideally with a friendly, confident dog. Someone experienced with oversea rescues or very nervous dogs would be wonderful. Gecko at a glance: - 4 years old - loving and cuddly once she trusts you - excellent with other dogs - playful and loves running in secure fields - making great progress with lead and toilet training - female household strongly preferred - a confident resident dog would be a real positive - experienced, patient adopter needed Gecko doesn't need someone to "fix" her.
