This is something I never thought I’d be writing, but after a lot of thought we have made the difficult decision to look for a new home for Guinness. Guinness is a gorgeous Labrador, nearly 2 years old, with such a lovely personality. He is affectionate, loving and absolutely loves being around people and being part of the family. He also loves his cuddly toys and is never happier than when he’s got one with him. 🧸 He has grown up around children and is used to a busy family home. One of my children is autistic and doesn’t like Guinness going too close to him, and Guinness has actually learnt this and knows to give him his space. He can be a bit of a nervous boy with things he’s unsure of. He’s barked at a wheelie bin on a walk before 😂 and he’s scared of the hoover. He’ll tolerate the noise of it being on, but there’s absolutely no chance he’s going anywhere near it while it’s running 😂. Once he’s comfortable though, he’s a big softie. Guinness has always lived around other dogs and is used to having them around. Like with most things, he can be a little unsure at first and needs time to get used to a new dog, but once he does, he’s absolutely fine. Any home with another dog would just need to be happy to introduce them properly and give him time to settle. Unfortunately, due to changes in my health and personal circumstances, I’ve had to accept that I’m no longer able to manage having two dogs and give them both everything they deserve. It’s been a really difficult decision and certainly isn’t one I’ve made lightly. 🏡 **The home we’d love for Guinness:** • Someone who has plenty of time for him and wants him to be a proper part of the family. • A patient and understanding home that will give him time to settle and won’t rush him when he’s unsure of something new. • Children are absolutely fine as he’s grown up around them. • Other dogs can be considered with the right introductions. • Most importantly, a stable, loving forever home where he’ll be loved as much as he is here. Guinness is KC registered, microchipped and fully up to date with his vaccinations. He is very loved, so this isn’t about finding him a home quickly. I would much rather wait for the right person than let him go somewhere I’m not completely comfortable with. £550 — serious enquiries only. The price isn’t the important part for us; it’s about making sure Guinness goes to the right home. I will be asking questions about potential homes, so please don’t be offended — I just need to know I’m making the right decision for him.
