This is Sherlock.
Hes a pineapple conure, age and sex unknown (I just call him a he).
Hes a fabulous character, he loves a bath, he has out of cage time everyday and will fly to your head or shoulders for attention. He isn't particularly loud.
I inadvertently ended up with him when I rescued him and 2 cockatiels from a terrible home, small filthy cages full of mould and dirt. I never planned to get a conure it just happened because I couldn't leave him there.
The down side is that he bites. Over the last 6 months I've tried everything to stop him biting as I know he really would love to be fussed. He just sees fingers as toys to bite and he really chomps down, he has drawn blood. The answer has been to just keep hands away from him and then he's fine.
He needs someone with more experience than me to train him and go on to be a loving part of a family.
Although he adores kids and gets so excited around them that he dances id be wary of having him around all but the most bird savvy child.
Hes a very picky eater (probably due to the bad diet he was on before me) and is driven by walnuts and sunflower seeds and millet. Ive persevered with pellets and fruit and veg but he rarely touches anything other than apple, veg wise and hates the pellets (I've tried 6 vatieties)
Money isn't a driving factor here and is negotiable but he's priceless until I know you can offer him what he needs. I want him to go to a loving home with someone who knows more about conures than I do. He deserves to find his forever home preferably with another bird for company. He really loves the cockatiels but they don't really like him.
I have an assortment of cages so we can find something that works for your space (I have a lovebird aviary so collected alot of cages over the years)
