Description
This is the hardest decision we have ever had to make for our baby boy, and our absolute priority is finding him the best possible home.
We are having to rehome our boy because of our children going to nursery through out the whole day and both adults starting work full time. Leaving scrappy fully alone all day would not be an option.
Meet Scrappy! He is an almost 2-year-old Lurcher/Deerhound cross, and we are his second owners. Scrappy is absolutely full of life, but he is also the most cuddly, loving dog you will ever meet. He truly believes he’s a lap dog and loves nothing more than being a "little" couch potato right next to you.
While Scrappy doesn’t show much interest in toys, he is highly motivated by two things: tasty treats and his daily walks! He is a gentle soul who just wants to be part of the family.
Scrappy is fantastic with other dogs! He has lived with and been around them, and he gets on incredibly well with dogs of all shapes and sizes. He could easily live with another canine friend.
Scrappy however cannot be rehomed with cats. Due to a bad experience in his past, he does not tolerate cats and needs a strictly feline-free home. Aside from cats, we believe he would do well around other types of animals.
Scrappy absolutely adores children and has the softest, most gentle soul around them. In his previous home, he lived with children aged 4 to 7, and with us, he has lived with young children aged 0 to 2. He is wonderful with all ages.
He is fully house trained! Scrappy is great at letting you know when he needs to go outside. As long as you keep an eye out for his cues, he won't have any accidents. When he first moved into our home he has a couple of accidents but that was just because of his big change in environment. He has a great appetite and eats two big meals of dry food (hard food) a day.
Scrappy is very well-behaved when left alone and is not destructive at all—he won't chew up your things! However, he is a sensitive boy who loves company, so if he is left for too long, he can get a bit lonely. He would thrive in a home where someone is around for a good part of the day.
Outside of the house scrappy can be let of the lead and has a great recall, he doesn’t go of the lead often that’s just our personal choice. On the lead scrappy is very strong when he first goes outside he likes to give you abit of a pull and let you know he’s excited.
