On behalf of our clients - a new home is sought for this super boy !!
Anyone looking for a summer project? And a very handsome project at that ?? Where do we start with this chap!!
Professionally broken as a late starter at 5 - Mali showed a willing trainable temperament where he was ridden away in all three paces and returned to his owners to continue his education.
He attended a few hound exercises and a small fun ride which included beach cantering.
Well behaved in the company of horses and hounds.
This horse is the definition of an old fashion hunt horse - yet moves for fun and is super light on his toes. He also has a huge natural scopey jump.
Due to owners ill health and through no fault of his own at all - Mali was returned to the field where he sat for a few years until they decided they were for him ready to return to a regular consistent workload.
This is where we come into it - he was sent to us to bring back into work where we have noticed he's showing a worried streak under saddle and would probably benefit from a slower restart. That said we have videos of him ridden with us and have taken him to a small arena hire.
You may think so where is the project part in this story ??
Being a big boy when he becomes worried he can get tense and clamp his tail. He has ran on a few times with us but I genuinely believe with a harder workload he will settle back down to his previous self.
In order to gain confidence and over come this worrying / tensing / scooting - in my opinion he would need a lot more work than his owners would be able to commit to - and from a cost perspective sadly it's not feasible for him to remain with us for this training.
So someone is about to buy them selves a very big very cheap horse for a small fraction of his value !! If I didn't have as many of my own horses he would absolutely be staying for me to work away with
On the ground - a saint - can be handled by the smallest of children and doesn't get stressed or worried in a busy yard environment
Currently turns out with the worlds smallest Shetland (not literally but he's very small) and a young filly. He wouldn't dream of being unkind to them which shows me his super kind heart of gold
Has been shod and is great with the farrier.
No stable vices or known medical history
Wormed to date
Mali is currently being sold out of work from the field.
Please note he is absolutely not suited to a novice home or as a first time project.
