📍 Currently at foster: Folkestone CT19
🌟 Adoption fee reduced (rehoming), RBU, post-adoption support & 4 weeks insurance provided upon adoption (on request) 🌟
💔 Penny arrived in the UK at the end of May and went straight into what everyone hoped would become her forever home.
Sadly, the trial did not work out. Not because Penny was difficult, not because she did anything wrong, but because her huge love for people, her enthusiasm for life and her strong attachment to her chosen person became overwhelming for the resident dog and difficult for the family to manage.
Penny was then welcomed into one of our wonderful foster homes, where she has continued to show exactly what kind of dog she truly is.

💔 Rescue Story
Penny was once adopted in Ukraine into what appeared to be a loving home. Photos were sent. Everything seemed perfect. But when rescue checked on her later, reality was very different. Instead of living as a beloved family member, Penny was found chained outside, spending her days in a leaking kennel. She was immediately taken back into rescue care.
Despite everything she experienced, Penny never lost her trust in people and never stopped believing that humans are wonderful.
🐾 More About Penny
Her foster says:
"Penny is one of those larger than life dogs who quickly makes herself at home, has an incredible zest for life and loves to make friends with humans and dogs alike."
She approaches life with joy, excitement and complete optimism. Every walk is an adventure. Every person is a potential friend. Every day is something to celebrate.
She loves being outdoors, loves exploring, loves water, loves running and loves discovering the world around her.
Whether she's splashing through a stream, following an exciting scent trail or bouncing after a toy, Penny throws herself wholeheartedly into whatever she is doing.
Her foster says:
"She is always super enthusiastic for anything and everything on offer and is a lively little youngster."
But underneath all that enthusiasm is also a dog who settles beautifully once her needs are met. Having had enough exercise, enrichment and companionship, Penny is perfectly capable of relaxing, snoozing and quietly enjoying family life.
"She is able to be calm, restful and relaxed once her needs are fulfilled and she responds very well to firm boundaries once she understands what one wants. She is certainly eager to please."
Penny gets on well with the resident dogs in foster and enjoys canine company enormously. She would particularly benefit from another confident, playful dog who enjoys interaction and games.
Because Penny is young, agile and full of enthusiasm, she can occasionally bounce into another dog's personal space without meaning any harm.
Her foster explains:
"Her enthusiasm and confidence means she can overspill into another dog's space unintentionally, but some calm, firm guidance from her human can quickly help her learn to wait her turn."
The wonderful thing about Penny is how quickly she learns and how much she wish to please. She genuinely wants to do the right thing and responds beautifully to guidance and structure.
🏡 Ideal Home
Penny would thrive in an active home where dogs are included in everyday life.
She would love people who enjoy long walks, adventures, exploring nature and sharing experiences with their dog rather than simply exercising them.
A confident, playful resident dog would be hugely beneficial and would help satisfy her social nature and love of interaction.
Her foster also feels she would absolutely love activities such as agility, enrichment games and training sessions that allow her clever brain and energetic personality to shine.
Most importantly, Penny needs people who appreciate her enthusiasm rather than trying to suppress it. People who understand that what makes Penny special is her enormous joy for life.
💞 Her foster says:
"She will be a great friend and companion to both human and dog alike. She is beautifully full of life and energy and her friendly playful spirit will shine through to touch all she meets."
And that describes Penny perfectly. She doesn't do anything halfway. Not playing. Not exploring. Not loving. Everything Penny does comes straight from the heart. ❤️
