🐾 Loving, experienced home wanted for Lola – 2-year-old Working Cocker Spaniel We are sadly looking for the right home for Lola, a 2-year-old chocolate Working Cocker Spaniel. She is spayed and is a very playful, energetic girl with lots of personality. Lola is free to a good and the right home. Lola was Bred with 2 working chocolate cocker spaniels. Lola absolutely loves being outdoors, running around and being off lead. She listens really well when she’s out and would thrive with someone who enjoys getting outdoors and can give her the exercise, stimulation and attention that a young Working Cocker needs. The reason for rehoming is that her current owner is getting older and has come to the difficult realisation that she can no longer give Lola everything she needs. We feel that while Lola is still young, the kindest thing is to find her a home with someone who has the time and energy to give her the life she needs. Lola can be an anxious and sensitive girl, so she needs someone patient and understanding who will take the time to get to know her and respect her boundaries. She doesn’t like feeling crowded or restricted and can become particularly anxious around grooming. We want to be completely transparent that Lola has previously growled and snapped during grooming and has bitten one person when she became overwhelmed in this situation. She is currently muzzled for grooming because of this. This isn’t something we want to hide or play down, as it’s really important that her new owner understands her and is comfortable working with her at her own pace. Lola also isn’t a dog who wants to be constantly fussed over, stroked or cuddled. She prefers affection and interaction on her own terms and will let you know when she’s comfortable and wants attention. One of her lovely little ways of doing this is coming over wagging her whole bum with a toy in her mouth, ready to play! At those times she’s happy to have a little stroke and some attention. A big part of understanding Lola is learning to read her and allowing her to choose when she’s comfortable with that interaction. Outside of the situations that make her anxious, Lola is a playful, active girl who loves getting out and about. We really feel she needs an experienced home with someone who understands anxious dogs, ideally someone familiar with Working Cockers, who can give her plenty of exercise, stimulation, patience and understanding. Ideally Lola would need somewhere to roam with land rather than be positioned with a family. Finding the right home for Lola is much more important to us than finding one quickly. She will not just be going to anybody. We want someone who genuinely understands her needs, respects her boundaries and can give her the opportunity to thrive. We will be completely open about Lola’s personality, behaviour, routine and history with anyone genuinely interested and would want to have a proper conversation beforehand to make sure it’s the right fit for everyone.
