Description
We are seeking an urgent, loving pet home for these two wonderful drakes. This item is being rehomed by SEFFA (South Essex Feather & Fur Aid). We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting our local community and animal welfare. Every penny from our adoption fees goes directly toward our mission of helping animals in need.
They originally came to remain as permanent residents with our own flock of four adults and six female ducklings. However, they have unfortunately taken a violent dislike to the ducklings (who are now nearly adult size but only 10 weeks old). Because they ganged up on them severely, we had to separate them immediately for the safety of the young ones.
They are currently being kept in a small separation run. This is strictly a temporary measure and is far too small for them long-term. Because of this, their rehoming is incredibly urgent. They are only being allowed out to stretch their legs when our other birds are securely put away.
About the Boys:
Breeds: One is a Campbell drake, and the other is a slimmer, taller Indian Runner.
Bond: They are inseparable, have been together since they were eggs, and have been completely spoilt throughout their lives.
Activity & Fertility: They are highly active, currently treading, and very fertile (we have had supporters successfully hatch ducklings from our girls' eggs).
Ideal Home: They need a dedicated pet setting, preferably with a pond, where they can live out their days happily with enough females of their own to manage.
Home Check Requirements:
A WhatsApp or FaceTime video call will be strictly required before adoption. This is so we can see exactly where they will be installed and check that the living conditions are suitable. On the same video call, you will be shown the boys up close.
