Affectionate, loyal and happiest when he's with his people, he loves being involved in everyday life. Whether you're pottering around the house, relaxing on the sofa or heading out for an adventure, Colby will be right there beside you. He's a friendly little dog who forms strong bonds with his family and enjoys plenty of affection. In the evenings, you'll often find him curled up at your feet while you watch television, and in the mornings he'll be ready to encourage everyone out for the day's first walk. Colby thrives on company and would much prefer a home where someone is around for a good part of the day rather than being left alone for long periods. Colby has lived in a busy family home and has taken it all in his stride. He enjoys greeting visitors, although he may bark when the doorbell rings and get a little excited before quickly settling down to make new friends. He's good with children and has grown up around both older children and a young toddler. Walks are one of Colby's greatest joys. He enjoys three walks a day and would happily keep going if you let him. At weekends, he's used to one longer walk of around 40 to 50 minutes alongside a couple of shorter outings, making him an excellent match for someone who enjoys getting outside. He also loves chasing a ball, curling up on his favourite blanket and, like many small dogs, occasionally getting into mischief with an abandoned toilet roll. Ideal Home • A home where he can get plenty of attention • Ok alone for up to 8 hours a couple times a week (hybrid, work from home or staggered shifts ideal) • Suitable for families with children • Could live with a friendly small dog following careful introductions • May prefer not to live with large dogs, as they can make him feel nervous • A home with plenty of opportunities for companionship, cuddles and daily exercise Colby is the sort of dog who quickly becomes part of every moment of your day.
