FREE to a loving forever home.
It is with a heavy heart that we are looking for a new home for our beautiful 5 year old Bearcoat Shar Pei, Winnie, due to an upcoming military relocation overseas.
Winnie has been a much loved member of our family for the past 5 years and has grown up in a busy family home with 4 young children who are all currently ages 10, 8, 7, and 11 months.
She is affectionate, loyal and enjoys being close to her family. True to the Shar Pei breed, she forms strong bonds with her people and is devoted to those she loves.
Like many Shar Pei, Winnie can be reserved around unfamiliar people and takes a little time to build trust with new faces. However, once she knows and accepts someone, she is incredibly affectionate and loyal. She previously spent several months living with my mother and father-in-law while we were managing a previous military move, and she adapted really well to her new environment and routine. This gives us confidence that, with patience and understanding, she will settle successfully into a loving new home.
Winnie is fully house trained, well-mannered in the home, and enjoys her walks and life. She has lived happily alongside our younger male Bearcoat Shar Pei, Yogi, and the two dogs have been companions for the past year, after the sad loss of our previous Bearcoat male. They get on very well, and we would love to see them rehomed together. However, we will consider separate homes if necessary to ensure both dogs find the homes they deserve.
Winnie is in good health and has been well cared for throughout her life. Veterinary records and other relevant documents will be provided to her new owner.
This decision has been incredibly difficult for our family, and is solely due to our overseas military relocation. It is in no way related to health, temperament or behaviour.
We are not asking for any money for Winnie. Our priority is finding a loving, responsible home where she will continue to receive the care, attention and affection she deserves.
