Meet George — also known as George Porge, Georgean, and Scorch — but most importantly, known by everyone who meets him as the absolute bestest boy.
George is the kind of dog who leaves paw prints on hearts wherever he goes. Handsome, affectionate, and endlessly loyal, he adores being with his people and will happily climb straight onto your lap for cuddles on the sofa, blissfully unaware that he’s not quite a tiny puppy anymore.
This beautiful boy 3 year old spaniel mix has a personality as big as his heart. He knows his name (even if his recall is still a work in progress!), sits beautifully in the hope of earning a sneaky treat, and is incredibly food motivated. Dinner time is one of his favourite parts of the day — George heads straight to his crate when his meal is ready, complete with the sweetest little foot taps of excitement.
Life with George is full of joyful moments. He gets wonderfully excited when the lead comes out, proudly brings you a toy when you get home, and loves carrying his treasures off to his crate or upstairs to show them off. When he’s fast asleep, you’ll often hear his signature deep bass snores and dream sounds, guaranteed to make you smile.
George is clean in the house and knows to go outside for the toilet. He settles well when left alone for a few hours and can happily be trusted out of a crate for 3+ hours. He travels brilliantly in the car, is fantastic at the vets, greets new people calmly and politely, and doesn’t beg for food at the table. Quite simply, he’s a joy to have around.
George has happily lived with another dog and enjoys canine company, especially dogs who are happy to play and then relax alongside him. Because he absolutely adores human attention, he could thrive as an only dog where he can soak up all the love and cuddles for himself. Equally, he could be very happy sharing his home with a well-matched resident dog who understands that George occasionally likes to be centre stage!
Like all dogs, George has a few quirks. He can sometimes bark or growl at other dogs if he isn’t able to get a good sniff and introduction, and while he has lived successfully around some cats, he can be selective and may become overly focused on certain cats. He can also have the occasional excited wee when greeting his favourite people, so a quick trip outside before saying hello helps him manage his excitement.
Even though George is not a big dog, weighing only 13 kilos, due to his enthusiasm, affectionate nature, and tendency to climb onto laps for cuddles, we feel he would be best suited to a home with children aged 10 years and over.
What George wants most is simple: a family to love. In return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty, endless affection, toy deliveries whenever you’re feeling down, and a best friend who wants nothing more than to be by your side.
