He has lived with children all his life, including young children, and his previous owner reports that he has always been very good with them. But a doggy girl-friend is not less important for him. ✨ Highlights ✨ • SIZE: Small – Miniature Dachshund • NEUTERED: Yes • CHARACTER: Sweet • Very cuddly • Loving • Affectionate • People-oriented • DOGS: Friendly and social; a friendly, playful female dog, ideally Dachshund, is essential in a new home • CHILDREN: Reported very good • CATS: Unknown • HOME LIFE: Not fully house-trained yet – some marking, expected to improve as he settles following neutering 💔 Surrender Story Alfie came into rescue together with Wilson following very difficult family circumstances involving domestic violence. Their owner could no longer safely care for them, and the boys urgently needed somewhere safe. Alfie is now neutered, safe in foster and ready to concentrate on something much happier — finding his own family. ❤️ 🐾 More About Alfie Alfie really is a little lovebug. 💙 He adores people, enjoys cuddles and affection and is friendly with everyone he meets. He has also shown us that he is friendly and social with dogs. When introduced to other female dogs, he showed nothing but friendly curiosity — even when some of them barked at him. His former owner mentioned some barking/reactivity towards dogs on walks, but from what we have seen this does not appear to be aggression. Alfie is social with dogs and this seems much more like typical Dachshund excitement and frustration on lead. 🏡 Ideal Home Alfie would love a home with plenty of human companionship, cuddles, walks and a secure garden. Importantly, we would love him to have a friendly, well-balanced and playful female dog for companionship — and a lovely Dachshund girlfriend would be especially welcome. 🐶❤️ Most of all, he needs people who genuinely want a very affectionate little dog as part of their everyday life. 💞 Chocolate on the outside and an absolute sweetheart inside. 🍫💙 Alfie has already had enough upheaval — now we would love to see him unpack his tiny Dachshund suitcase for the last time. 🩺 Health Information Alfie is neutered and reported to be vaccinated, with no known medical conditions. Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints

They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise

The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
