Description

Fritz is a medium sized boy aged around 2 years He was originally rescued from the streets of Romania and spent some time in our shelter in Curtea De Arges before travelling to his adoptive home in the UK in May 2025 Unfortunately Fritz’s family surrendered him due to his reactive behaviours, suspecting that their environment was a contributing factor. Fritz has been in his Foster home since January this year. Fritz is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered He is in good health As in his previous home, Fritz struggles with visitors He is very reactive and continues to bark for quite some time even when separated He has lunged and attempted to bite two different people on separate occasions in his Foster home. Fritz needs to live in a quiet, calm household with minimal, if any, visitors and introductions need to be controlled and sensible . Fritz previously bit another dog and he continues to react in a negative way towards dogs he encounters It is recommended that he does not live with other dogs in his new home. Fritz cannot live with cats or other small furries. Fritz currently lives with 3 boys (aged 14,16 and 20) and had positive interactions with children of a slighter younger age group in his previous home It is felt that a calmer, less busy environment would be better suited for him Visiting friends and the frequent “comings and goings” associated with normal family prove overwhelming for him Applications for households with older children (14 years plus) will be considered on an individual basis Fritz accepts a collar and lead He pulls strongly on the lead and will require a home able to manage this and happy to continue training. Fritz is reactive to external stimuli such as joggers, bikes, children on scooters etc He ideally needs to be walked in quieter areas where the likelihood of encountering triggers is reduced He travels well in the car. Fritz is toilet trained and crate trained He settles down and sleeps well overnight either on the sofa or at the top of the stairs Occasionally on his Foster Mum’s bed (which is not encouraged!) He shows no signs of separation anxiety and has been left for periods of up to 4 hours This will need to be built up to in Fritz’s new home once he has settled in. Fritz has not displayed any destructive behaviour nor has he displayed any food aggression/resource guarding behaviour. Fritz requires a quiet, experienced home who will give him the time and patience needed to help him settle and overcome his current anxieties We feel he would benefit from having someone around a lot of the time particularly while he adjusts to his new home. Fritz’s Foster has the following to say about him: “Fritz is generally a lovely soft boy once he gets to know you you. He can be very loving loves his tummy rubbed loves to sit with you. My thoughts are that he really needs to be in a quieter home somebody that can be there with him a lot more and give him a lot more time. He really is a beautiful dog and someone really deserves to have Fritz in their home.”
