Description
Catarella is in foster in Romford, on London/ Essex border with a young female dog.
Catarella is what you would expect from a young Brittany type: active, social, and very people-focused.
Catarella is full of energy and enjoys running, playing with toys, and interacting with other dogs.
He’s friendly with everyone he meets, including children although due to his enthusiasm and tendency to play physically, we’re looking for a home with older children or teenagers.

Like many ex-hunting dogs, Cat hasn’t had the best start. As with many dogs from a similar background, food hasn’t always been guaranteed. He’s therefore very food-motivated and will eat quickly and as much as he can, so he’ll need sensible feeding routines and management to keep him healthy and happy.
He also has a high prey drive, so he would not suitable for a home with birds or small furries.
On lead and recall are both coming along but Cat would benefit from continued training. He travels reasonably well and handles routine situations like the vet without issue.

He’s not a difficult dog at all (he is a fabulous, friendly and kind boy), but he’s not low-maintenance. He needs outlets for his energy and a home that understands the needs of a working breed.

BACKGROUND:
Catarella was found roaming the streets looking for food. He was picked up by the dog catcher and taken to a hugely busy municipal pound in Spain. Cold, hungry and so grateful for even the tiniest bit of affection, we stepped in to help him.
Catarella is a Brittany X and may have been a working dog. Please research the breed and specific needs of a Breton before applying.

All of our dogs have an international passport (unless born in the UK) and are microchipped. They are fully vaccinated for standard diseases as well as rabies and kennel cough. All dogs are blood tested for infectious diseases including Leishmaniasis, Dirofilaria, Ehrlichia, Babesia, Anaplasma, Lyme and Brucella canis. All dogs, unless there are medical or behavioural reasons to not do so, will be sterilised. Catarella is neutered. Please note that we will advise medical results and treatments upon successful application.
