Description
Please read the full advert carefully before enquiring. This is not a decision I am taking lightly.
Enzo is a 21-month-old Cane Corso/Presa Canario-type mix looking for a suitable, experienced home.
He is a very affectionate, cuddly and gentle-natured dog with people he is comfortable with. He is polite, very affectionate, and has a big, dopey personality. He loves attention and can settle very quickly in a home environment. He is also very strong and does not always realise his size.
Due to his unknown history and the short time he has been in my care, I am looking for an experienced home that understands large guardian-type breeds and is prepared to be patient while getting to know him.
Important information — please read
* His previous history is largely unknown.
* He is microchipped
* I have no vaccination records or confirmed medical history, so his vaccination status should be treated as unknown until verified, I am getting him into a vet for his vaccinations and to be fully checked over.
* He appears lean/underweight and has some health concerns that need veterinary follow-up, including overgrown dew claws and possible dental/skin issues.
* He can bark at noises and people.
* He has shown signs of being overwhelmed in busy/new situations.
* He has growled at children and gave a warning snap towards a child when overwhelmed. For this reason, I am looking for an adult-only home and he must not be placed with children.
* He has not been suitable to live with my own dog, so I am looking for a home where he can be the only dog, or where there is an experienced and safe management plan.
Enzo is not being rehomed because he is an inherently “bad” dog. He is a young, powerful dog with an unknown background who needs the right environment, patience, structure and responsible handling.
I am looking for someone who:
* has genuine experience with large breeds, ideally Cane Corso, Presa Canario or similar guardian breeds;
* understands that owning a very large dog is a serious responsibility;
* has the time, finances and ability to provide veterinary care;
* has an adult-only household;
* can provide a secure home and suitable exercise;
* is prepared to allow him time to settle and not overwhelm him with visitors or busy environments;
* understands that his behaviour and history must be taken seriously.
I will be asking questions before arranging any meeting and will not rehome him to the first person who enquires. His welfare and the safety of his future home are my priority.
Please message with information about your household, your previous dog experience, who lives in the property, your working hours, whether you have other animals, and why you feel Enzo would be suitable for you.
