Description

Ozzy is 19 months old. He is quite a dominant dog and gets very hyper especially at night. We had him on meds prescribed by the vet to help keep him calm but our circumstances have changed and we can no longer afford them (£150 per month). We also have a very small house and I'm disabled and can't get upstairs to separate away from him when he gets hyper every evening. I should point out that he had been tormented every evening by a neighbour and their dog every evening which drove him nuts and we took a little too long to work out what was going on so every night now Ozzy anticipates it and gets nippy and very barky. We live in a very busy neighborhood and there's always someone going passed and Ozzy is basically a guard dog and barks. He's so loving when calm but just too much when not on his medication and we are really letting him down.. It's not fair, we are making him worse and we know the right thing to do is to find him better owners. He's still young and not neutered on the advice of the vets, I should make you aware that the shelter won't take him as they consider him too much of a risk. This is a desperate attempt to find someone used to training dogs and specifically with stubborn dominant dogs. He really likes to be under command and possibly working. It's breaking our hearts to think of parting with him but trying to cope with him is really taking It's toll on our family. We have cats who stay up stairs and he's not aggressive at all towards then just very excitable. He was also attacked a few months ago and didn't fight back, just cried and tried to get away. He really isn't a bad dog just misunderstood and needing a lot of work. If there is anyone special enough to manage Ozzy, please get in touch. Many thanks
