Description
š¾ Meet Amber š¾
Amber is a cracking little dog with a huge personality packed into a small frame!
This little pocket rocket spent several months with the Fire & Rescue Service learning the foundations of becoming a Search & Rescue dog. Unfortunately, following a very unfortunate nip,(we will discuss the circumstances with potential adopters, it was not aggression and she is not an aggressive dog) Amber was removed from the course and her working-dog career came to an end.
But Amber has so much more to offer.
She has super obedience foundations, is very handler-friendly and, in our care, we have found her to be a trustworthy and engaging little dog. Her searching ability is fantastic, and she absolutely loves having a job to do. She will need a home that can provide her with a suitable outlet for her clever brain and natural searching instincts.
Away from work, Amber is surprisingly peaceful in the home. She can settle beautifully and doesn't need to be on the go every minute of the day.
Amber adores her ball and tug games and has a beautifully trained "OUT", making play and training an absolute joy. She is bright, motivated and loves working alongside her person.
We do need to be honest about Amber's limitations. Sadly, we don't feel she is suitable for a formal working role. She can become a little nervous when placed under additional pressure from a person, so she needs a handler who understands her, builds her confidence and works with her rather than putting her under unnecessary pressure.
For the right person, Amber could be an incredibly rewarding companion. Someone who enjoys training, scentwork, searching, games and keeping a clever little dog mentally fulfilled would get the very best from her.
She needs someone who will appreciate the amazing little dog she already is. ā¤ļø
If you're looking for a small, intelligent, driven and wonderfully engaging companion who will happily swap the search-and-rescue career for a life of games, adventures and being someone's very special girl, Amber could be the one. Amber can live with other dogs.
Amber was originally a stray taken by the police. She is easy to handle, gets in and out of vehicles without a fuss. Peaceful in her crate, is used to all household sounds without issues. Amber adores everyone she meets, she has no fear of people or the world.
Amber would like a child free home, no cats. Unless you are very Malinois experienced.
