He has bite history with body sensitivities, grooming and food.
We have had Flash for 14 weeks now. He was rehomed to us as a loving family dog however they stated an allergy had formed with the children. When he came he had a horrific ear infection & when I tried to look at it & clean it, he became very aggressive towards me, he went to the vet to have it sorted & cleaned out. When I messaged their old owner they stated he had never been aggressive with them, however I do not beleive this is the case. They stated due to an allergy he was shut away in the office all the time, however I think this was due to how he is.
He is an amazing loving dog, BUT he is very very sensitive! He will bite if you get hold of his collar. He will bite if you redirect him using a harness. He will bite when trying to brush, clip, or trim him. He will bite if you try to get any wrappers or food from him.
He has now bitten my daughter this evening and I can no longer risk him in the home with my young children and visiting young babies and children.
Flash is not reactive at all on walks, however he is very reactive when he hears dogs bark when he is inside the home or the garden, he will barge anything and everything to get to the garden to bark aggressively at other dog's outside. He is very very stubborn. He has come on amazingly since we have had him as he had no recall, He would cower under the table if you raised a hand or lifted something near him. The first week we had him, we had a thunder storm and he barked at every tiny bang, we had a bit of thunder a week or so ago & he didn't bat an eyelid at it so unsure whether it was just nerves at the start and him reacting. He is great living with other dog's, doesn't guard food from them at all. Eats alongside my elderly dog & doesn't bat an eyelid if she goes in his bowl or tries to sniff out a chew when he has one. He seems to have no trust in people at all & we have brought him on a lot, but his bite reaction is obviously ingrained & not safe around Children. He pulls a lot on lead & needs attaching at the front & top of his harness. He is great off lead anywhere. He will very occasionally growl at another dog if they get too in his face and jump on him whilst on a walk.
He doesn't have separation anxiety and is happily left, non destructive and will sleep either downstairs or with you. I would rather him go to a home where he is given the choice though as we do allow him to sleep with us! He is fed barking heads white fish kibble. He loves wet food & also tolerated Marley Bones for a while, he came with Simparica trio & Droncit which he is covered with until next week, this however gave him an extremely sensitive tummy & he was awful for a week. We were going to switch him to what our vets use which is Nexguard that our older dog tolerates fine, but unfortunately we have now made the decision to rehome Flash for everyone's safety so it will be down to his new owners which one they try! He is neutered, up to date with his vaccines & microchipped. I will pass on any paperwork we have for him. He will come with one of the dog blankets for scent whilst he transitions, his harness, lead, collar, extendi lead & toys. He will also come with his probiotic/anal gland treats that he has once a day, 3 day's worth of Barking heads food, & his slow feeder bowl.
