💔 Rescue Story
Shanny was adopted into a family when she was only a little puppy and grew up knowing the security of having her own person and home. Sadly, years later, her owner's circumstances changed in the most difficult way — he became seriously ill and could no longer care for her. Shanny had to be given up. 😞
For her, this wasn't a case of never having had a home. She had one. She knew what it meant to belong. And then, through circumstances nobody could control, she lost it.
Now at 6 years old, this lovely family dog needs someone to give her that sense of belonging again.
🐾 More About Shanny
Shanny currently lives in a foster home with a few dogs and has lovely manners.
She meets new people in a friendly way, although she may take a moment to look you over first. Once introductions are made, affection becomes very important indeed. 🥰
Shanny loves being close to her humans and would happily spend much of her day in their company. At the same time, she can settle and stay home alone nicely for short periods after fully settled.
She is clever, responsive and already knows commands. And bring out a ball and you have discovered one of Shanny's great passions. 🎾 She loves playing fetch and brings the ball back — always an important detail for the human appointed to throwing duties! 😁
She is well-balanced rather than endlessly energetic, but absolutely loves her walks, particularly adventures through the woods where she can explore.
Shanny likes other dogs and enjoys gentle playing with them. Unfortunately, she is so gentle that some dogs have taken advantage of her nature, and she doesn't really know how to stand up for herself. For that reason, if she shares her future home, we would choose a friendly, not pishy dog who won't overwhelm or bully her.
🏡 Ideal Home
Shanny would be wonderful for someone looking for a grown-up family companion who still enjoys fun and adventure.
She could live with a gentle, friendly dog, but another dog isn't essential. What matters much more to Shanny is having her people.
She would suit a family with respectful children aged 10+, a couple or an individual who wants a dog genuinely involved in everyday life.
Woodland walks, games of fetch, cuddles at home and simply being included would make Shanny very happy.
💞 Shanny isn't looking to learn how to be a family dog — she already is one. She knows how lovely it is to have her own people, to listen to them, play together and come home after a good walk.
She simply needs someone to say that although her first family chapter had to end, there is another one waiting for her. And this time, we hope it lasts for the rest of her life. ❤️
