Hello everyone!
We have a very handsome cat available for adoption, called Merlin. He is middle aged, treated for parasites, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He currently lives in Hastings (East Sussex) being looked after by the kind member of the public who contacted us, concerned about his welfare.
Merlin showed up out of nowhere in the communal garden of a flat complex, looking rough, the neighbours tried to locate his potential owner via numerous means, to no avail. One day, Merlin looked unwell and was hot to the touch. The lovely lady who feeds him took him to the vet, but sadly could not cover the treatment, so the clinic called Tesa's Rescue (us) to see if we could assist. We said yes in a heartbeat, Merlin received medication to bring his temperature down, he is doing great now, we also helped neuter/vaccinate/microchip/treat him for parasites. The community looking after him would love to see him adopted and loved in a forever home of his own.
Normally, we would place cats like Merlin in a foster home, but at the moment all of our foster home are full, and so are all the other rescues which have been contacted. The only solution for poor little Merlin is for him to stay where he is now, as he is fed, safe and loved, and for us to try our hardest to find him the perfect forever home. Merlin is really sweet towards people and other cats, he doesn't exactly know how to behave in a house, so we are looking for a committed and patient owner to show him the comfort of a home, the gentleness of a cuddle, the warmth of finally having his very own family.
The lady who watches over him says,
"Merlin has had a rough time, but is a sweet affectionate male cat that would appreciate an outdoor life with his own home and owner to return to. He appreciates food big time and cheekily will invite himself into any home and take another cats food if you have one! He's of such an easy temperament that he is friends with another older male cat that at 15 years usually fights every cat in sight. So he's a smooth operator! playful too! He appreciates human attention, he would bond easily I feel to anyone being kind and offering regular food. He likes being stroked but not too much. A lot of his behaviour is probably down to what appears to be abandonment or neglect. Like gobbling food down 4 pouches at a time, as if he doesn't know when the next meal will come. Merlin is now ready to explore life with a kind owner with garden, he will return your investment in him with delight and affection. A sleek handsome fellow that will charm himself into your heart."
Merlin would appreciate stability, love and kindness. He is such a dear soul.
