Description

AVAILABLE- ‘Taco’ with his little Queen Anne legs & barrel bum- hopelessly cute & vulnerable unless you choose him- 10-12 months old- small sized lad A little about me in my own words (please remember that humans are not defined by their pasts alone- neither are we). My name is ‘Taco’ & I was just a baby really when I found myself in a government shelter. At a time when most puppies are enjoying their mum we were abandoned & neglected all alone & afraid. I say ‘we’ because I am one of a litter of 3- two brothers & one sister. My sister ‘Nacho’ is still looking for a home too. We have been waiting since September 25’ because there was no one to try to turn things round for us or support our plight. That changed when leesa the owner from ‘Break The Chains’ was alerted to our situation & now she & her team are trying to save us. We are at risk (so we are told) which means that despite growing up from the infant age of 5-6months in here we could find ourselves homeless again. You can ask the rescuer if you’d like to learn more about this. We have little memory of our neglect from before our shelter time which is a relief and we have resolve & the courage to bounce back. However how can we fend for ourselves in the big bad world when we have always been dependant on humans pretty much? Leesa says we wouldn’t survive out there. Whilst we are both a little timid and there is nothing wrong with that this makes us so calm, quiet & docile. We barely make a sound if you hear us at all in our videos & we walk out on the lease on the very small training ground with bravery & compliance. That’s if any visitors come to walk us (sadly not many think we are worth the trip). We were fine with children from the get go as the pictures show & whilst we are bashful initially we are easily handled and stroked once we get to know you. In this noisy environment that’s harder because we have to compete with so many & you can be trapped within yourselves within a context sometimes. That’s outside of our control until we are chosen- IF we are chosen I should say. I keep speaking for both of us because I’m used to having sis around but we don’t need each other if we are homed. We are each other’s comfort in the misery and difficulties but in a joyous & safe place we will find new distractions. Both myself & Nacho are clearly great around other dogs. We tend to cow down to the needs of others & mould around what’s needed of us. We are just so adaptable & agreeable. Never are our amenable natures more at show than when we are taken out of our comfort zone for a walk & we simply went with it rather than object. It’s because we are vulnerable & never belonged that we surly should be worth something to someone? If you’re used to two dogs then we can be no more trouble than one & can be homed together of course though to reiterate this is not a necessity. We would like however, should we be fortunate enough to be picked, to have doggy play dates and lots of interactions with other animals or for our owners to become our pack. We are used to men & women & for me tummy rubs are a winner. Hesitant is also calm so don’t rule me out just because I’m not jumping all over the place- maybe I’m just what you’re looking for.
