💔 Three years ago someone reached out to us in complete despair, asking for help for sweet little Koda. Sudden heartbreaking family circumstances meant they could no longer care for her.
Koda came into foster and immediately showed everyone what a funny, affectionate and social little girl she was. And very quickly she found what we all hoped would be her forever home… Forever…
But life changes. And now, three years later, her family has reached out again asking for help finding Koda a new home — through absolutely no fault of her own.
Her owner loves her deeply, but work commitments now mean Koda is left alone far too much for the kind of dog she truly is, sometimes that’s even up to 10 hours alone. And Koda simply can’t cope with this emotionally. She is a companion dog through and through — happiest close to her people, involved in daily life, loved and reassured.

Koda is a 4.5-year-old small-medium mixed breed girl, compact and sturdy at around 13 kg, a little overweight at the moment, with adorable short little legs and a huge loving heart.

With increasing work demands and long hours away from home, the family knows that Koda is no longer thriving emotionally in the current setup.
This was not a quick or careless decision. It comes from love and guilt — because they know she deserves more time, companionship and emotional presence than they can’t currently give.
🐾 More About Koda
Koda is an incredibly people-focused little dog.
With people she knows and trusts, she is cuddly, affectionate and deeply bonded. She especially adores the owner’s grandmother and becomes extremely close and loving with people she feels safe around.
She loves walks, travelling in the car, running around gardens and being involved in everyday life. She enjoys sticks, toys and adventures, and can even happily run alongside someone for several kilometres.
She knows commands including sit, lie down, off, dance, and will go straight to her crate or bed when asked. She is clever, responsive and eager to connect.
Koda can be left alone for short periods after settling, but emotionally she struggles with being left for very long hours regularly.
She is now reactive to other dogs and other animals and needs careful introductions and management. She is also protective of spaces she sees as “hers” such as her bed or crate.
But underneath all of this is not a “wrong dog.” It is an anxious, sensitive little girl who needs predictability, reassurance and someone emotionally available for her.
She can submissively urinate when overwhelmed or emotional, and she needs calm, gentle handling rather than pressure.
🏡 Ideal Home
Koda needs a quiet, calm home with someone around most of the day — ideally someone working from home, retired or living a quieter lifestyle.
She needs emotional presence, routine and kindness far more than “perfect training.”
She would do best as the only pet, in a peaceful adult household with minimal chaos and patient understanding of sensitive dogs.
💞 Koda is emotionally soft, deeply attached and simply needs a human who has time for her heart.
Three years ago she lost everything once. Please help us make sure this time truly becomes forever. ❤️

Koda is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated. She is currently on Reconcile to support anxiety/reactivity due to long hours being left alone and eats a low-calorie diet to help manage weight.
