Nova – Belgian Malinois Mix – Experienced Home Only
Please read the full advert before enquiring.
Nova is a beautiful Belgian Malinois mix who will be 2 years old in September (DOB: 11/09/2024).
She originally belonged to our son, but following a house move and the arrival of a new baby, he was no longer able to keep her. We took Nova in so we could find her the loving, permanent home she deserves. Unfortunately, with three dogs of our own, we cannot give her the one-to-one attention she needs.
Nova is looking for an experienced owner who understands high-drive working breeds. She is not suitable for a first-time dog owner or someone looking for an easy pet.
Nova is incredibly affectionate with her family and loves nothing more than being involved in everyday life. She enjoys cuddles on the sofa, sleeping close to you if allowed, and is a very loyal companion.
Like many Malinois, Nova has a high play drive and is absolutely ball obsessed. She loves playing fetch and will happily carry a ball around in her mouth for hours, often only putting it down when she’s ready to relax. She is happiest when she has both physical exercise and mental stimulation.
Nova is intelligent and eager to learn but needs an owner who will provide structure, consistency and ongoing training. She is strong on the lead and can pull, so she will benefit from someone confident who is prepared to continue her training.
She can be excitable when meeting new people but settles well once she knows you. She has lived around children, although due to her enthusiasm and size, I feel she would be better suited to a home with older children or adults.
Nova has lived with other dogs and can mix well, but I believe she would thrive as the only dog in the home where she can receive all the attention, training and exercise she deserves. She has also lived with a cat and generally ignores it, although she may chase if it runs.
When Nova was younger, she was attacked by another dog and required surgery to her face. She has made a full recovery and is now fit and healthy.
Although Nova has the appearance of a working dog, she is being rehomed strictly as a family companion. She is not suitable for protection or security work.
Nova’s ideal home:
• Someone with experience of Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds or similar working breeds.
• An active owner who enjoys training and exercising their dog.
• A secure garden.
• A home committed to giving her the time, guidance and lifelong commitment she deserves.
Nova is a wonderful, loving dog with enormous potential in the right hands. She needs an owner who appreciates the Malinois breed, enjoys working with intelligent dogs and is looking for a loyal companion for life.
Please only get in touch if you genuinely believe you can offer Nova the experienced, committed forever home she deserves.
