*Baz has bite history and requires an experienced large dog owner* Looking for the perfect forever home for Baz ❤️ This is one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, but I know it's the right one for Baz. Baz is a gorgeous 1-year-old mixed breed, around 40kg and microchipped. He's a big, goofy, affectionate boy who genuinely believes he's a lap dog. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will make you laugh every day, Baz has so much to offer. He absolutely loves long walks and exploring, has off-lead recall, loves playing with his toys (he happily drops them on command), loves food (pretty much any food!), enjoys car journeys, adores cuddles and being close to his people, and absolutely loves other large dogs (I'm realizing now he is slightly scared of large male dogs) In fact, I think he'd really benefit from living with another confident large, female dog, as he learns from them and is naturally very submissive around them. Baz is house trained, crate trained (he goes in on command and sleeps there all night), lead trained and has recall. Baz is also muzzle trained. I keep him on a long lead at all times but have only had to grab it once to stop him chasing a deer. He's incredibly clever, eager to learn and responds really well to calm, confident handling. ⚠️Baz thrives with structure, consistency and clear boundaries. As a strong working/guarding breed mix, he does best when he knows exactly what's expected of him. He has clear rules and routines that need to be maintained to help him feel secure and make the best choices. In the right home with calm, confident guidance, he is incredibly rewarding, eager to please and responds brilliantly to training. He completed a four-week residential training programme where he lived successfully with his trainer and two large dogs, gaining confidence and learning valuable skills that he continues to use every day. ⚠️Like many dogs, Baz isn't perfect. He's an anxious boy with people, who can become protective of his home and will sometimes guard spaces around the house. He can communicate (most of the time but there has been one instance where he didn't warn, but I wasn't there), and understanding and respecting those signals is really important. Because of this, he does have a bite history, which I will discuss openly and honestly with anyone who is seriously interested. His behaviour has always followed the same pattern, and I'm happy to explain everything in detail. Outside the home, he's much more relaxed. He can be wary of unfamiliar people, particularly men, but he doesn't lunge or seek confrontation. Given time, patience and positive experiences, he builds trust beautifully. Watching him recently form bonds with new people has been incredible, and it's shown me just how much potential he has. Baz needs an adult-only home with no children or other animals. I'm looking for someone experienced with large breeds, ideally someone who understands anxious or reactive dogs and is committed to continuing the structure and boundaries that help him succeed. A secure garden and plenty of opportunities for long walks and enrichment would be ideal. I would also love for him to live with another confident large FEMALE dog, as he absolutely thrives in their company. Baz requires a single family home or a single owner. A shared house does not work for Baz I'm afraid. This decision is entirely about giving Baz the life he deserves. My circumstances and mental health mean I can no longer give him the time, space and consistency he needs to truly thrive. He deserves someone who can help him reach his full potential. To the right person, Baz will be the most loving, loyal and rewarding companion you could ask for. He has already shown how well he can succeed in the right environment, and I truly believe his best years are still ahead of him. If you think you could offer Baz the home he deserves, please send me a private message. I'd love to chat, answer any questions honestly, and make sure it's the right match for both Baz and his future family. ❤️ All enquires will be vetted in extreme detail to ensure Bazs size and appearance is not used for the wrong reasons
