A tiny survivor searching for her peaceful forever HOME MICA has already survived neglect and abandonment. Now she needs the one thing she has never truly had: a calm, secure home where she can finally feel safe. FEMALE AGE SIZE TYPE Spayed Born 10 October 2019 Small - approx. 7.5 kg Rough-coated terrier mix Her story MICA was found by one of our friends in a heartbreaking condition: starving, covered in fleas and with her coat painfully tangled and matted. She was cleaned, groomed and treated for parasites before we took her to the vets. To everyone’s surprise, MICA was microchipped. We traced her owner, who agreed to sign her over to our rescue. From that moment, MICA’s old life was behind her. We had her fully vaccinated, blood-tested and spayed, and later found what seemed to be a lovely home for her in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. MICA was understandably nervous at first, but she was making progress and beginning to settle. Sadly, the home was not the right long-term match: MICA is uncomfortable around young children, while the family has grandchildren who visit. They have therefore decided to return her to us.   The little dog behind the story MICA is a sweet, sensitive little soul who needs time, gentleness and predictability. Once she begins to trust, her bright eyes, happy smile and affectionate nature shine through. She enjoys comfort, a cosy bed and being close to the people she knows. Her nervousness is understandable after everything she has experienced. She does not need to be pushed or overwhelmed; she needs kind, confident adults who will let her settle at her own pace and show her that she is safe. The home MICA needs • An adult-only home, with no resident or regularly visiting young children. • A calm, patient adopter who understands that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and build trust. • Her own secure, private garden, where she can explore and toilet safely while settling in. • A peaceful household without constant visitors, noise or pressure. • Someone who will give her structure, reassurance and gentle introductions to new people and situations. • A genuine family-pet home - never for breeding, guarding, working, assistance or service work. IMPORTANT: MICA’s discomfort around young children must be respected. We will not place her in a household where young children live or visit regularly. This is about keeping MICA and the children comfortable and safe.   Ready for a fresh start From the frightened, neglected dog who was found beneath a painfully matted coat, MICA has blossomed into a beautiful little companion. Everything practical has been done for her; what she needs now is the right person to complete her journey. Health and vetting • Microchipped - ownership was legally signed over to Friends InDeed Dog Rescue. • Fully vaccinated and treated against internal and external parasites. • Spayed. • Blood-tested, including Brucella and 4DX screening. Our promise - and yours Friends InDeed Dog Rescue provides lifelong rescue back-up. We remain available for advice and support throughout MICA’s life, and adopters must agree to keep in touch with us. If circumstances ever change, MICA must return to our rescue and must never be privately passed on or sold. Adoption information • A home check is mandatory and may sometimes be completed online. • A secure, private garden is required. • Meetings will be carefully arranged so MICA is not overwhelmed. • No payment until you meet MICA.
