🐾❤️ HI, I'M CHARLIE! ❤️🐾
I'm a 15-month-old Border Collie and I'm looking for my forever family in Cornwall or Devon only.
Before I tell you all the good stuff about me, I should explain why I'm looking for a new home. My family loves me very, very much, but my mum, who looks after me the most, has sadly been diagnosed with a progressive health condition and can no longer give me all the adventures, exercise and mental stimulation that a young collie needs. So, with a very heavy heart, she's making the incredibly difficult decision to help me find a home where I can live my very best life.
The good news is that I'm still living with my family while Paws2Freedom helps me find the perfect match.
Now, onto the important stuff... me! 😁
I'm a happy, affectionate, playful boy with a sweet nature and a big heart.
I've grown up with children aged 8+ and cats and I'm also good with other dogs.
I love being around my people and joining in with whatever is happening.
Everyone tells me I'm a very clever boy. I have excellent recall, know all my basic commands and even have a few party tricks up my sleeve. One of my favourites is rolling over because it usually earns me lots of praise and sometimes a tasty treat!
I've been taught good manners and have pretty good impulse control for such a young dog. I'm eager to learn, enjoy training and love making my humans proud.
I sleep happily in my crate at night and if someone says "pen", I trot straight in because I know exactly what that means.
My only little work-in-progress is lead walking. Sometimes I get so excited about all the wonderful things there are to see and do that my enthusiasm takes over and I can pull a bit. I'm still young though and getting better all the time.
I absolutely LOVE water. Puddles, streams, rivers, beaches... if it's wet, chances are I'll want to investigate it.
I also happen to be a professional cuddle monster. After a good walk, some games and a bit of brain work, you'll usually find me curled up next to my humans enjoying a fuss and a snooze.
Now, let's talk about one of my greatest passions in life... BALLS! 🎾
Honestly, if a ball appears the rest of the world pretty much disappears. Birds? What birds? Squirrels? Never seen one. People calling my name? Sorry, can't hear you! Once I'm focused on a game of fetch with my hooman, I'm all in and could happily play for hours.
A nice secure garden where I can chase, retrieve and show off my ball skills would be my idea of heaven.
My other great love is chicken. Oh my goodness, chicken! If you've got chicken, you've got my full attention. My mum uses it as my special training reward and I think it's the greatest invention ever.
I'm always keen to learn new things, especially when there's a tasty piece of chicken involved. Training with me is lots of fun because I'm clever, eager to please and highly motivated by snacks!
I'm not one of those collies who needs to work sheep from dawn till dusk, but I do enjoy keeping both my body and brain active. Agility, flyball, scent work, trick training, hiking adventures or simply learning new things with my family would all make me very happy
While I can be left for short periods once I've settled into my new home and routine, I'd be happiest with people who are around most of the time. I really enjoy being part of family life and love spending time with my humans.

❤️ A large, secure garden where I can play games, explore and relax
❤️ A rural or semi-rural location
❤️ People who enjoy adventures, training and spending quality time with their dog
❤️ Someone around for most of the day
