**Healthy Alexandrine Parakeet – Looking for a Loving, Experienced Home**
We are looking for a loving and responsible new home for our Alexandrine parakeet, who is approximately 18 months old.
We received him as a gift around 6 months ago. He is healthy and has been checked by a vet. We have taken good care of him and there are no health issues that we are aware of. His exact gender is not confirmed, as Alexandrine parakeets can usually be sexed more reliably when they are older, when the male's neck ring begins to develop.
The reason for selling him is **not because of any health or behavioural problem**. We are a young couple and, unfortunately, we realised that we were not fully prepared for the amount of time, attention and interaction that an Alexandrine parakeet needs. We are starting our studies in August, while also working, which means that we will not be home enough during the day to give him the attention and companionship he deserves.
We believe it would be unfair to keep him if we cannot provide him with the time and attention he needs, so we have made the difficult decision to find him a new home.
We are looking for someone who genuinely understands parrots and their needs, ideally someone with previous experience keeping parrots. We want to make sure he goes to **the right person and a loving, suitable home**, rather than simply selling him to the first person who is interested.
