We have been keeping a range of chickens, mostly bantams, for almost 20 years and usually keep all those that we've bred. This year went a little differently as we had two mums go broody in secret in the bushes and weren't able to find them until it was too late. So we've accidentally ended up with a larger flock than intended! Therefore we are very reluctantly selling some stunning bantam chicks due to needing to reduce our flock size. They are used to free ranging and would certainly prefer a free range home but would be content in a large pen provided they have plenty of enrichment and interaction. They are small friendly birds and will lay delicious eggs when they are older. I've put in the advert that they hatched on 16th June but we also have three girls who hatched on 29th May. There are at least 7 females, one cockerel and the others I'm not 100% about yet. It should become clear in the next couple of weeks. They will be sold in groups of a minimum of three birds. Just a warning - I will be fussy about the quality of their new homes as we really love them all and want to ensure they have long, healthy, happy lives. Bantams can live over 10 years if well cared for so please take this into account when enquiring.
