These fish are being rehomed by SEFFA (South Essex Feather & Fur Aid). We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting our local community and animal welfare. Every penny from this adoption goes directly toward our mission of helping animals in need.
We have an incredible, healthy Sailfin Pleco female looking for a massive indoor setup to accommodate her size. She is currently 36 cm and around 3 to 4 years old. As you can see in image_2.png, she has beautiful, bold leopard markings and a spectacular, large dorsal fin. We think she is ready to lay, should she get the right size tank with the right size cave/hideout and right male. She has been living with the common male pleco in the pics. But they grew enormous for the tank they are in. He keeps on cleaning and hiding in the open decor they have but female cant obviously get there too for egg laying.
If you have the right size setup, where these 2 plecos can do their business. 800l tank at least, they are a bonded pair. We are happy to adjust the adoption fee for anyone taking both. Not advisable to add female to existing female or male to existing male as they will fight over territory. Hence we prefer the pair to go together.
⚠️ Tank Requirements
Sailfin Plecos grow very large, produce a lot of waste, and need serious space and heavy filtration.
she he or both will only be rehomed to experienced keepers with an appropriately sized, established large tropical tank.
A video call is required prior to adoption to confirm tank suitability.
