💔 URGENT APPEAL 💔
We are trying very hard to help save RUBY before she loses the only home she has ever known…
Her owner is terminally ill and, heartbreakingly, the family are desperately trying to find a safe solution for her. Sadly, due to her strength, energy and behavioural challenges, rescues are already turning her away. We are extremely worried about what may happen if the right home is not found soon enough. 😢

🐶 Meet RUBY
RUBY is a stunning young German Shepherd x Staffordshire Bull Terrier girl, just over 1 year old.
She is a big, powerful dog at around 40Kg, with a beautiful athletic build, expressive eyes and those adorable radar ears that seem to have a mind of their own. 🥹
RUBY is:
✅ Microchipped
✅ Vaccinated
✅ Up to date with flea & worm treatment
❌ Not yet neutered
She is still very young and emotionally immature, with lots of energy and excitement for life. Like many intelligent working-type dogs, she has not yet learned how to properly process stimulation, strangers and busy environments.
At the moment, RUBY can be:
⚠️ Reactive to unfamiliar people
⚠️ Very bouncy and over-excited
⚠️ Strong on the lead
⚠️ Vocal when unsure or overstimulated
But please remember… this does NOT make her a bad dog.
RUBY has simply reached the age where guidance, structure and proper leadership are absolutely essential — and sadly, due to devastating family circumstances, this has become impossible for her current owner. 💔
Behind all the chaos is still a young dog wanting direction, security and somebody she can trust.
🏡 The Home RUBY Needs
RUBY is NOT a beginner’s dog.
She urgently needs:
🐾 A calm but confident adult-only home
🐾 Somebody experienced with large reactive breeds
🐾 A secure private garden
🐾 Time, patience and proper boundaries
🐾 Continued positive training and decompression
🐾 An adopter physically capable of handling a strong dog
She must be:
❌ The only pet in the home
❌ In a home with NO children
We believe RUBY could thrive beautifully in the right hands. She is still so young and has huge potential, but she desperately needs somebody willing to invest time and understanding into her.
This is not a dog for somebody wanting an “easy” companion immediately.
This is a dog for somebody willing to SAVE a life. 🧡
🐾 Breed Thoughts
RUBY appears to combine the intelligence and alertness of a German Shepherd with the strength, loyalty and determination of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier type.
That mix can create an incredibly devoted companion — but also a dog who requires structure, consistency and proper mental stimulation.
Without guidance, young dogs like RUBY can easily become overwhelmed and reactive.
With the right person, however, they often become deeply loyal, loving and incredibly rewarding companions.

Adrian and the team at Friends inDEED have been wonderful. We were able to go meet our dog with her sisters and we were in frequent communication during the adoption, and since with updates etc. We were also provided with some food, and lent a harness & lead to bring her home. She has already been incredibly well trained for a rescue dog as we have had no toilet accidents and she is already wonderful on her lead.
