Description
For sale is my Male golden Conure called Maverick. He is 5 Years old born October 2020 and I have owned him since May 2021. I am very sad to be selling him but since having a little one and working shift work I just don't get the time to spend with him anymore and its sad knowing I can no longer give him the attention he needs. I would love for him to go to a loving home with someone that is experienced. He is hand reared, has never bitten me or anyone else he has been around. He is fantastic with children and loves my nieces. I will miss him dearly, he was very tame and would step up etc, he was clicker and touch target trained, also harness trained but unfortunately I haven't had the chance in a while to do much training with him, I still allow him time out of the cage when I can but sometimes he decides not to come out anymore and its sad to see. I know I have to do the right thing and let him be with someone who has the time and knowledge to look after him.
He will say his name, normal calling etc, he says "cup of tea", ‘what you doing’ and "good boy". He sometimes also calls my name "Aaron"
when I first got him he was on a seed diet and fresh vegetables, he loves sweetcorn and peas. I moved him onto a pellet diet which was Kaytee, I have also tried him on Harrison's high potency which he wasn't overly keen on but did eat some. Recently he's been back on a more seed than pellet diet as I have found it difficult to find a pellet he likes but have now got him onto the Your Parrot pellet which he is loving.
My questions to you as a buyer will be:
What is your experience of owning parrots ?
what will be your intentions with him ?
Will you remain in contact with me so I can see how he is getting on ?
He will come with his cage, a upvc play gym thing that he used to love being on. He will also come with the harness, clicker and touch target stick. He will come with a few other bits and happy to provide a list for anyone interested.
I have the CITES certificate number 598797/01 and other paper work for him
If you are interested I am happy to send videos and As you can imagine I would like to also get a feel for you as a person as the last thing I would want is him to go to someone that cannot provide the love and care he needs.
