I honestly don't even know how to start writing this. 💔 With broken hearts, we have made the incredibly difficult decision that we need to find a new home for our beautiful girl, Mila Moo. Mila has been with us since she was just 8 weeks old and she is now 6 years old in December. She has been such a huge part of our family and has been there through so much of our lives. She has always had the absolute best life with us, which makes having to write this one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. Since having our baby, Mila's behaviour around him has changed. She has become increasingly uncomfortable around him. As much as we love her and as devastating as this decision is, our child's safety has to come first. This isn't a decision we've made lightly, and we are not looking for someone to tell us what we could do differently or how we could make the situation work. We have explored our options and sought professional advice, and we have made the decision that the safest and most responsible thing for both Mila and our son is for Mila to move to an appropriate adult-only home. /14+ About Mila 🐾 Mila is a beautiful, loving girl who has so many wonderful qualities. ❤️ She is completely house trained and has never had an accident in the house. ❤️ She is brilliant on walks. ❤️ She is friendly with people when out and about. ❤️ She is generally friendly with other dogs while out walking, although she is strong due to her breed and does need an owner who is confident handling her. ❤️ She doesn't bark when left alone. ❤️ She has never destroyed furniture or caused damage in our home. ❤️ She loves being part of the family and having attention and affection. There are, however, some important things that any potential home needs to understand. Mila can be territorial within the home towords other animals and has bullied other dogs when they have visited. She lives with our cats and is friendly with them, but she does not like unfamiliar cats, so we would ideally like her to go to a home with no other animals. Most importantly, because of what has happened with our baby, Mila must go to an adult-only home with no children under 14. This is non-negotiable. We are not going to simply hand Mila over to the first person who asks. She deserves a home where she will be understood, loved and kept safe, and we need to know that whoever takes her on is the right person for her. Because of this, we will want to: 🐾 Have multiple meetings with potential owners and Mila. 🐾 Ask questions about your experience with dogs and your lifestyle. 🐾 See where Mila would be living. 🐾 Be completely open and honest about her history and behaviour. 🐾 Make sure everyone is comfortable before making any decision. This may seem like overkill to some people, but Mila is not "just a dog" to us. She is our girl. We love her more than words can explain, and finding her the right home is incredibly important to us. We are absolutely heartbroken that this is where we have ended up, but sometimes loving an animal means making an incredibly painful decision for their future as well as your own. Please only contact me if you genuinely meet the requirements and are prepared to have an honest conversation about Mila and her needs. And please, please don't message me with advice about what we could try or tell me that you could "fix" her. We have sought professional advice and tried everything we reasonably can. This decision has not been made through lack of love — it has been made because we love both Mila and our child enough to put safety first. 💔 Mila Moo deserves a wonderful life, and our job now is to find the person who can give her that. 🐾
