Description
Annette is a 3 Year old Large Female, her estimated DOB is 24th March 2021. She is neutered, vaccinated and has no known health issues. Annette's booster vaccinations are due in March 2025.
Annette was rescued from the streets of Curtea De Arges, Romania in May 2023. She was described as a nervous and shy girl however she did accept touch. Annette was very fearful of the lead and would refuse to walk when this was on her. Annette spent Almost one year in shelter before moving to her current foster home in March 2024. Annette is now available for Adoption.
Annette is nervous around new people she meets and takes time before she can build trust with them, she has however never shown any aggression. Due to Annette's anxious behaviours she will need a quiet separated safe place in her new home and a quiet environment would be best for her.
Annette accepts a collar, harness and lead. She is very good on the lead but can be nervous especially around loud noises.
Annette has not met children, she could potentially live with older, sensible dog savvy children with slow introductions.
Annette currently shares her home with another dog however he can be too boisterous with her, it is felt she would however benefit from the company of another dog. Annette therefore needs another calm dog in her new home to help her confidence but respect her space.
Annette has not met cats since being in the UK however she did meet them in Romania and was good with them, she can therefore share her home with a cat following sensible introductions.
Annette is toilet trained but is not crate trained. She has never been destructive and has been left alone up to 5 hours with no issues. She sleeps well overnight and is very relaxed and calm, she prefers to sleep in her safe place and her foster puts fairy lights around the doorway to it's not too dark for her. She has previously been anxious around the dark and would refuse to toilet outside at night however she has now grown in confidence with this. Annette can be anxious in the car and has travelled once however she did poo due to fear.
Annette's foster has said the following:
She is a lovely dog and wouldn't hurt a fly. She doesn't like to come out of her safe place however she has access to the garden from there. She likes to be stroked but doesn't like sudden movements or loud noises. She enjoys her food and treats and eats will but tends to eat in her own time when you are not watching. She will take treats from your hand however takes time and patience and only when she wants to interact with you. She doesn't approach people or my other dog. She would thrive in a calm environment. She wags her tail when she see's us in the morning and she knows her morning and evening routine. She is very chilled and is no trouble at all, she is a very sweet girl. She has been to the groomers and she had a nice bath, she coped very well with this.
