Ray is looking for a foster or forever home š¾
Based in Cheshire, with transport available anywhere in the UK, Ray is searching for a committed and understanding foster or forever family who can give him the fresh start he needs.
Ray is a small-sized boy at around 9kg. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready to move on to a home better suited to his needs. He is currently on medication while ongoing behavioural support is explored.
Ray is an active, intelligent dog who forms strong bonds with his person and loves human company. He enjoys his walks, travels well in the car, is fully toilet trained, and settles nicely overnight. He can be left for periods during the day and manages well with no accidents.
Ray would thrive in a home that can keep him mentally stimulated, active, and engaged. He enjoys being busy and would love people who understand the importance of structure, routine, and enrichment.
He has shown that he can be affectionate and friendly, and once he trusts you he builds a close connection. He may suit a single person or couple where he can feel secure and build confidence at his own pace.
Ray does have behavioural challenges that mean he needs an experienced, patient home willing to continue working with him. He can be reactive around other dogs and some moving stimuli outdoors, has a strong prey drive, and can become overwhelmed in certain situations. He has also shown anxious behaviours in the home, including redirected frustration and chewing when bored or stressed.
Because of this, Ray needs an adult-only home with no cats and ideally as the only pet. He will need calm handling, clear boundaries, and ongoing support, potentially with a qualified behaviourist, to help him succeed.
Ray is not a bad dog ā he is a dog who needs the right environment and the right guidance. In the right hands, with patience and understanding, he has every chance to make great progress.
