Description
Minnie has been in the same home since a 4 year old, initially teaching a novice adult to ride and proved a real confidence giver.
In her time she has attended showjumping, tilting, cross country, hunt rides, and done miles of hacking alone and in company across beaches, forests and open fields, as well as being dressed up and ridden bareback. Has been used to nanny youngsters. Can leave for weeks and get back on without issue.
Also driven previously, although not done regularly with current ower.
She has lived on a farm, seeing plenty of machinery and livestock and has a brilliant temperament to traditionally spooky things. Ridden out with dogs regularly and loves a swim in the sea.
She is lovely to handle on the ground, but will occasionally need a treat to catch her out the field. Nothing nasty, she just walks away from you. Great to get her feet done, groom, tack up, load etc.
Good to clip her body, but would need sedation to clip her legs.
She was used as a broodmare for one year, and produced a lovely foal, being a very attentive mother.
Minnie is barefoot and can live out all year round without rugs. Would need vaccines restarted.
Can take a small adult or older child/teen. Could suit lead rein as she's a gentle lady.
For children off the leadrein - second/third ridden, as she does enjoy a canter when out hacking and can jog a bit when excited (ridden in a snaffle at all times and not strong for a small adult rider).
Last year, she was diagnosed with mild arthritis in the front feet and received steroid injections. She took some time off work, came back into her ridden work very happy and fully sound, but has been mostly retired from jumping now. Since this, it's been over a year, and she hasn't needed any further injections, and can still enjoy long hacks and a good gallop.
For this reason, she is suited as a safe happy hacker with occasional low level jumps. She hasn't spent much time schooling but may produce a nice prelim test with some work.
