Mendiko kennels are over the moon to announce the safe arrival of 7 gorgeous Spanish Mastiff puppies. Puppies will leave fully vaccinated at ten weeks of age to ensure proper socialisation, with 2 vet checks, IKC registrations ( We are in the process of working with the KC to get the Spanish Mastiffs added to the Import register and their breed standard recognised. And once this process is completed these puppies will have their registrations transferred over to the KC) further dose of wormer, microchips, our manual, contracts and insurance. Puppies are raw fed/raised and we strongly recommend this to be continued. We will give you all the information and support you need to make the best choices for your new puppy moving forward. They will be accustomed to sheep and livestock, heavily socialised with children and other dogs/pets, Aswell as all aspects of a busy family life. All puppies are raised in accordance with our stringent socialisation methods in line with our 5* license. These are huge dogs, on average the overall largest dog breed in the world. Males can reach up to 38 inches to the shoulder and weigh in excess of 120kg. Females upto 32-33 inches (we actually have 1 female that is 34.5 inches to the shoulder) and weigh up to 75-85kg. Sire of the litter Scar (Oscar de Serylu) is a gentle giant, so soft and friendly, everyone absolutely adores him. He is 35inches to the shoulder and currently weighs a little over 90kg but is still growing, he has just turned 3 but hasn’t even started to fill out yet, this can be up to 5 years old for the boys. Mum Cups (Copa de Guadamia) is another total softy, she has an incredible affinity with the children (we have 6) These dogs however do need a strong leader that will set firm boundaries as a puppy, that will shape and set them up for a stable adulthood. They have very little prey or food drive therefore as adults are not ones to chase/ be rewarded with tit bits. So any puppy training should be done with praise and love As adults they are very loyal, independent, calm family guardians - however all this starts with the correct raising. Scar has OFA FAIR hips (normal hip joint formation) and Cups has A grade hips with Spanish orthopaedic association. We have an incredible amount of experience raising and training livestock guardian dogs, amongst others, and are here to offer support and advice for the life of your dogs. You will receive full extensive support/backup from an experienced LGD owners. To include on going training if needed.
