Description
🐾 AMELIA – Ready for Her Forever Home 🐾
Amelia was rescued in Cyprus and, to give her the best possible chance of finding her forever family, she flew to a foster home in Eastbourne in April.
Amelia is around 24 kg so on the larger side of medium. She is a gorgeous mixed breed.
She has now settled beautifully and is ready to find her perfect home. ❤️
Amelia is a playful, affectionate and wonderfully sociable girl who loves both people and other dogs. She now runs out of the back gate with her foster siblings and waits excitedly to get into the van for their adventures. She has even travelled happily alongside up to 11 doggy friends on group walks!
She loves playing fetch, exploring, cuddling up on the sofa and sitting patiently for as many treats as she can possibly persuade you to give her. Be warned, though—once she is comfortable on the sofa, she has absolutely no intention of making room for anyone else! 😂
Amelia is:
🐾 House trained
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Settled and quiet overnight
🐾 Happy being left
🐾 Excellent in the car
🐾 Friendly and playful with other dogs
🐾 Wonderful with adults and children
🐾 Very loving and eager to learn
She currently lives with two seven-year-old children and absolutely adores them. One of the children has ADHD, and Amelia has formed a particularly lovely bond with him.
Amelia walks well on the lead, although her nose and enthusiasm for exploring can sometimes get the better of her, so she may pull occasionally. This is improving with continued training.
She is fed alongside other dogs without difficulty. If another dog approaches her bowl, she may politely tell them that it belongs to her, but she has shown no nasty or aggressive behaviour. An experienced owner would understand that she is simply communicating appropriately.
Amelia could adapt to many different types of home. She loves playing with other dogs and could live with a suitable canine companion. However, because she can be enthusiastic, vocal and very playful, she may be better as the only dog in a less experienced home where her playful behaviour will not be misunderstood.
She has not been tested with cats or small animals.
Amelia is learning quickly and is described by her foster family as “a cracking little dog.” She is affectionate, funny, adventurous and ready to become someone’s most loyal companion.
