β¨ Meet Francis β¨
A small companion dog who wants a comfy sofa, a few walks, some toys and people to love.
He's house trained.
He sleeps through the night.
He can be left home alone once settled.
He has no separation anxiety.
He loves human company.
He loves cuddles.
He loves belly rubs.
He loves snoozing at your feet while you watch TV.
He loves to play.
Honestly? He's a really easy dog to live with.
Francis is currently living in foster with us alongside multiple dogs, including a Doberman, Golden Retriever, puppies and has settled in beautifully.

π His Story π
Francis was rescued from the streets of Bosnia and eventually found a loving family in the UK.
Sadly after 4 years, due to severe allergies with a new family member, they made the decision to give him up through absolutely no fault of his own.
He then spent time in kennels before coming into foster with us, where he has reminded everyone what a lovely little dog he truly is.

π‘ Home Life
Francis absolutely adores being around his people.
He'll happily curl up beside you, snooze while you work, follow you from room to room and let out his funny little noises when he's looking for attention.
Once he trusts you, he's incredibly affectionate and actively seeks out fuss. He'll nudge your hand for strokes, roll over for belly rubs and happily spend hours relaxing by your side.
He also has a playful side and loves toys, tug games, zoomies and short adventures.

π Walks & Confidence
Francis loves his walks and gets very excited to head out.
Like many rescue street dogs, he can occasionally feel unsure in unfamiliar environments or around things he finds worrying. When this happens, he benefits from calm guidance and patience.
He has made lovely progress and continues to grow in confidence.
He has previously lived successfully with a German Shepherd and is currently thriving with multiple dogs in foster. Because of this, we believe he could live with another respectful dog.

π What Francis Needs π
Francis isn't a dog who enjoys being picked up or having his boundaries ignored.
Like many dogs, he communicates clearly when he's uncomfortable and is looking for adopters who will respect his space and allow trust to develop naturally.
He simply needs someone who understands that trust is earned, not demanded.
Francis needs routine, and a calm household. He can get nippy if he's wound up or the environment is too chaotic. We're happy to discuss when Francis can get nippy.
For this reason, Francis is looking for:
β
A patient and understanding home
β
Children aged 12+ only
β
People willing to allow him time to settle
β
Adopters who understand and respect canine boundaries
β
A calm, loving environment

π©Ί Health
Francis underwent surgery in June 2023 for Legg Perthes Disease, where he had a Femoral Head & Neck removal due to pain in his hip joint.
Since recovering, he has absolutely flourished and is now back to being playful, active and full of life.
He has also previously worked with a behaviourist, and all support, advice and guidance can be passed on to his future family.
Francis has a sensitive tummy, and guidance on suitable foods will be provided to adopters.
