PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION!!!
Blaze is an 11 month old male Sprollie (Springer Spaniel x Border Collie) and is an incredible dog. This has been an extremely difficult decision, and I will only consider the very best home for him.
He has been fully trained off lead from a very young age and has excellent recall. He is exceptionally well trained, knows a wide range of commands inside the house and outside including sit, stay, wait, leave it, middle, this way and pretty much everything else you can think of. He is fully toilet trained on command and I have done all of his basic and advanced training myself, with videos available to show his abilities.
Blaze is fully vaccinated, in excellent health and has been given a clean bill of health by the vet. He only has one descended testicle, which may need monitoring in the future but is not currently causing any issues. He will come with his crate, harnesses, leads, bowls, toys, coat and everything else he needs.
He is fantastic with other dogs and has lived happily with two cats since he was a puppy. He is also great with children.
It is important that any potential home understands Blaze’s challenges. He is nervous around new people and will bark when someone first enters the house. He settles once he knows they are not a threat, but he will need patient introductions and continued confidence building. He is also very strong on the lead and can become overstimulated at the beginning of his walks, so his lead walking will need ongoing training. Blaze also struggles with being left alone and currently cannot be left for much longer than around 30 minutes, as he will bark due to separation anxiety. Because of this, he needs a home where someone is around for most of the day or someone with the time and commitment to continue working with him. This is all anxiety based issues that it’s important a potential home is willing to work on as his obedience and training in all other areas is excellent.
Blaze is an extremely high energy dog and, as a cross between two intelligent working breeds, he needs plenty of exercise, mental stimulation and a purpose. He would thrive in an active home and ideally somewhere with plenty of land or space, such as a farm or smallholding or lots of space to run around. I genuinely believe he would make an excellent working dog as he just wants to please.
He is affectionate, loyal and loves being involved in everything you do. Rehoming him is purely due to changes in my mental health. I love him more than anything but I want him to have the life he deserves with someone who can financially and physically meet all his needs. Finding the right home is far more important to me than a quick sale, and I will only let him go to the right person! If possible, I would really love to stay in touch after Blaze has settled into his new home. I don’t expect constant updates, but the occasional message or photo to let me know how he’s getting on would mean the world to me. He is a huge part of my life, and knowing that he’s happy, loved and thriving would give me a lot of comfort.
