Skye – Looking for a Special Forever Home
Skye is a beautiful young black and white English Springer Spaniel looking for a calm, understanding forever home. This is an incredibly difficult decision, so finding the right home is far more important than finding a home quickly.
Skye has partial hearing. She can hear some sounds but not everything, so she naturally relies on watching people. She is wonderfully observant, following body language, facial expressions and hand signals, and once she understands what you're asking, she's eager to please.
She is an exceptionally sensitive, gentle soul who thrives on feeling safe and knowing where she stands. Like many sensitive dogs, if she doesn't understand something she may bark or become worried, so she needs someone who can guide her with calm, patient leadership rather than pressure.
Although she can be left for sensible periods, Skye is happiest with company. She absolutely loves other dogs and gains a great deal of confidence from them. She can be a little cautious when first meeting new dogs, but she is naturally submissive and forms lovely friendships. For this reason, I feel she would be happiest in a home with another kind, confident dog. She may also have the opportunity to retire alongside one of my own girls in the future, so I would love her new family to get to know her before any such transition takes place.
Skye isn't a dog who needs a busy lifestyle. In fact, less is more. I believe she would flourish in a peaceful, predictable home rather than one filled with constant trips to busy public places. She would be especially suited to someone who enjoys a quieter pace of life and would love nothing more than sharing the sofa for a cuddle after a gentle walk. Once she trusts you, she is affectionate, wonderfully goofy, loves rolling around and has a lovely sense of humour.
Skye has already experienced one unsuccessful home, so I'm looking for someone who understands that trust takes time. She needs patience, kindness and consistency, but she gives so much back when she feels safe.
Skye is KC registered, fully health tested (including DNA and eye testing), fully vaccinated, recently vet checked and in excellent health, comes with change over food and comfort blanket.
She is an entire bitch and is being rehomed strictly as a cherished family companion. She is not available for breeding, and I will only consider homes that can offer her the stable, loving life she deserves.
