š¾ Loving, experienced home wanted for Cocoa š¤
This is an incredibly difficult decision and one I havenāt made lightly, but Iām looking for a very special new home for our 7 month old girl, Cocoa.
Cocoa is a gorgeous, affectionate, funny and incredibly loving little girl. She absolutely adores people and LOVES other dogs. Sheās very sociable and loves nothing more than being involved in whatever youāre doing.
Sheās a clever girl and already knows sit, paw and lie down. Sheās crate familiar and is toilet trained at home sheāll happily take herself outside to go to the toilet and will ask to be let out if the door is closed.
Cocoa is still young and going through her adolescent stage, so she can be excitable and will need someone happy to continue her training. Sheās particularly enthusiastic around other dogs and can bark, pull and sometimes growl through excitement when she sees them on walks because she desperately wants to say hello. This isnāt aggression she absolutely loves other dogs but she does need continued work on learning to stay calm around them.
The main reason weāre looking for a new home is that Cocoa really struggles with being separated from her people. She can become very vocal and distressed when left alone and can even struggle when youāre elsewhere in the house. Unfortunately, our family circumstances mean weāre unable to give this the level of time and dedicated training that she needs.
For that reason, Iām looking for someone who is home most of the time initially and understands that Cocoa cannot currently just be left for several hours. Ideally Iād love to find someone experienced with dogs who can gradually work on building her confidence and independence.
Sheās also a typical cheeky puppy around food and can be very determined when thereās something tasty around, particularly other dogsā food, so this is another area where sheāll need consistent boundaries and continued training.
I genuinely believe Cocoa has the potential to become a wonderful adult dog in the right environment. Sheās young, affectionate, intelligent and has so much love to give. I simply think she needs a different household and someone who can dedicate more time to the areas sheās currently struggling with.
This is not first come, first served, and she wonāt be going to just anyone. Finding Cocoa the right long-term home is incredibly important to me.
If youāre genuinely interested, please message me telling me a little about your household, working arrangements, any children or pets, your previous experience with dogs and what Cocoaās normal day would look like with you.
š¤ A loving, permanent home is an absolute must.
