🐾 Loving Shepherd Mix Seeking a Safe, Understanding Forever Home — Meet Baxter Based in Devon-Uk I believe he is about 7 years old Baxter is a German Shepherd x Spanish Mastin mix with a big heart, and lovely nature, and is looking for his forever home due to no Fault of his own. My Mother passed away and my Father has moved abroad and left him in my hands to find a home, and with a dog and 2 cats of my own and a new born baby and with me working 40hrs a week and my partner struggling with keeping up with his needs, we find it it best suited to look for someone who can look after him better than we can. Bacter has had surgery last yeat to fix a cruciate ligament issue on a back leg ehich means it could happen with his other one, so does not need super long walks but small regular walks to keep his energy down, unlike some large dogs baxter is very placid and does not need tons of walks to burn energy due to how he was raised abroad. Baxter is a Neutered Male and is House trained. He can be Alert and vocal due to his breed Dog‑reactive at times, but with calm introductions and parallel walking he can settle and interact well as he has done with many other pets that habe come into our home. 🐈 Cat friendly 🐈 Baxter loves attention and will use his mouth to grab your hand with his mouth for attention or for playing -He has been around a handful of children only temporarily and currently living with a baby in house hold with no issues. Baxter is a genuinely lovely boy once he trusts you. He bonds deeply, enjoys companionship, and thrives with structure. He’s alert, loving and eager to be part of someone’s world. He’s not a “first‑time dog owner” type — he needs someone confident, patient, and experienced with large breeds or shepherd‑type dogs. He is alert like a guard dog barking at many sounds as that could come drom outaide your home as this was how he was raised before my dad got him as a rescue from Spain. 🏡 The Home He Needs Baxter will do best with: - An experienced, confident owner - A secure home with space & a garden where he can be let off lead without ( as he cannot be off lead in public due to lack of recall) - Someone willing to continue his socialisation training and structured introductions - someone looking for a companion - A calm, stable environment where he can decompress and feel safe When he finds the correct home we will sort his microchip change at no cost to you, he wears a seresto collar and is flea & worm free Adoption fee below to make sure he does not go to just anyone that wants him for his breed to cause trouble, we have worked hard on baxter and he needs someone who can keep up with his care.
