Description
We are looking for a "together-forever" home for our two beautiful girls, Edna and Iris. Sadly we can no longer give them what they need and they need a lovely home together with someone who will love them as much as we do. Edna is 9 years old. She's the dark bay. She is approx. 10.2hh, is very stocky and can take the weight of a small adult. She has been ridden but not for some time. She's also had a foal before coming to us, which is why she took Iris (the dun) under her wing when Iris came to us. Iris is 11hh but was bought as a Shetland! She obviously isn't and was absolutely tiny when we got her. We think she was younger than we were told as she struggled to eat solid food at first. Edna took Iris under her wing and looked after her and they are inseparable. Iris's passport says she is 4 years old but she's actually only going to be 4 this summer. Iris hasn't been backed but she is very intelligent and will make a lovely little mare for someone with the time and knowhow to bring her on. We got our girls for our grandchildren to ride but our family moved away to the other end of the country and our own circumstances have changed so the ponies are bored and under stimulated. Both girls know their names and come when called, allow head-collars, rugs etc to be put on without any fuss. They lead well and enjoy being groomed although they usually ruin it by rolling in a puddle! They have the farrier every 8 or so weeks and are used to loud noises and machinery (we live surrounded by farmland on which the farmer allows shooting), so nothing really bothers them. They enjoy a lot of fuss and cuddles & kisses, especially Edna who can stand for ages while you tell her all your troubles.
